Laiya, Batangas | A Weekend Getaway at Blue Coral Beach Resort

Laiya Beach in San Juan, Batangas

If you are in Manila and looking for a beach escapade over the weekend, Batangas is the go-to place. There are plenty of option to choose from but for now, let’s explore Laiya Beach.

Laiya is a Barangay in San Juan, Batangas. A 3-hour drive and a popular beach destination near Manila. Perfect for weekend getaway, barkada boding or company outing.

For this trip, it was a team building. We stayed at Blue Coral Beach Resort. Situated in the middle of Laiya Beach, Blue Coral is one of the top resort in the area. What I like about the resort is that it has a beach front access and a pool.

That afternoon, while swimming in the beach, we decided to try a water activity. First option was banana boat. But we wanted a little more extreme, so they offered “Bandwagon”. Similar to Banana Boat, this inflatable is pulled by a jet ski. 3 person will sit in front of the inflatable and 3 person will stand at the back. Watch the video below to see it in action.

After that heart pumping ride, we spent the remainder of the day at the beach talking about the Bandwagon experience.

The next day, we woke up early and went to the beach for a swim. Then we also spent time in the pool before going back to Manila.

Expect crowded beach on weekends especially during summer. The place will be filled with people from nearby cities from families, couples, friends to company outings. But don't let the crowd stop you from experiencing what Laiya Beach has to offer. From the young ones who are more extreme to the old ones who are looking for a place to relax. Beach bumming, swimming, food trip, massage, etc. There's an activity for everyone. Isn't that the reason why we go on a weekend getaway? For everyone to have fun.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT LAIYA BEACH

Laiya beach is open all year round but the best time to visit is during summer. This is from March to May. Due to its proximity to Manila, expect crowded beach even during off season.

My recommendation is to schedule your trip during weekdays. Best to avoid long weekends and holidays.
