Silang, Cavite | Staycation and Tagaytay Side Trip | DIY Travel Guide

Silang Cavite Staycation

Sharing another destination you can visit that is under the radar but is pretty close to Tagaytay. This is Silang, Cavite. More specifically in the place they call “Bayan ng Silang”.

This is the hometown of my father. A progressive town with narrow streets and old houses just along the Aguinaldo Highway going to Tagaytay. Silang, Cavite’s climate is almost similar to Tagaytay.

Here we spent a weekend at Marius Bed and Breakfast. Hidden in one of the narrow streets of Silang. An affordable hostel with a rustic atmosphere and teeming plant life.

Since Tagaytay is pretty close to Silang, we did a short road trip to eat lunch. We stumbled upon Siglo Modern Filipino. A Filipino restaurant serving local cuisine from around Philippines with a modern twist.

We ordered, Sisiglaw, Crispy Tawilis, Beef Kulma.

Then for desserts, we tried Siglo Turon served with vanilla ice cream.

Food was great, but for me my top pick would be Sisiglaw. Their take on the famous Pampanga’s Sisig fusion with Visayas Kinilaw.

What I love more about our Siglo experience is the exceptional service. This should be on your list of restaurants to try when in tagaytay.

We spent the remainder of the day in Marius Café with a few bottles of soju and wine.

Then next day, we went to Ilog Maria Honey Bee Farm. Situated just outside the town proper. The farm sells produces from skin care to household products. They sourced everything from their farm.

We explored a tiny bit of this 10-hectare forest. Saw bee hives along the trail, free range chickens, rabbits and more.

Of course we bought some stuff in Ilog Maria Honey Bee Farm store before heading back to Manila.
