Tagaytay | Hidden Gems | DIY Travel Guide

Tagaytay - this is the go to destination for people who want a quick getaway from Manila. The cold weather, the view of Taal volcano, eating Bulalo at Mahogay Market are some of the reasons why people love to spend a weekend here.

I grew up spending most of my summers and weekends here. I still remember the time when it has a sleepy town vibe, when there were more trees than buildings and when cars barely pass Aguinaldo highway.

A lot has changed since then, but all those childhood memories makes Tagaytay feel homey. This is the reason why Tagaytay is a special place to me.

We all know that there's plenty of tourist spots and restaurants in Tagaytay, we cannot cover all of it in one trip. So in this blog, I will share some hidden gems in and near Tagaytay.

We stayed at Cabins by ECO Hotel Tagaytay. Just in front of Ayala Serin. Chose this hotel because it is eco-friendly and its affordable lake view room.

From there our first destination was Caleruega Church. It is actually located in Nasugbu but a tourist favorite when in Tagaytay. Known for its beautiful church situated on top of a hill.

The lush vegetation, adds to the tranquil atmosphere of Caleruega.

Our next stop is Sonya’s Garden. This is a hidden gem in Alfonso, Cavite. Due to its proximity to Tagaytay, it is also a favorite side trip if you are looking for a bed and breakfast, an organic restaurant or somewhere to relax. Our goal was to relax, so we availed Sonya’s Signature Massage with spine alignment. One hour and thirty minutes of pure bliss.

Then, we had an early dinner at Breakfast at Antonio’s. One of the top restaurants in Tagaytay. It serves an all-day breakfast in a casual family dining atmosphere.
