For our 5th day in Japan and 3rd day in Tokyo, we’ve allocated 1 full day at Tokyo DisneySea. Situated just southeast of central Tokyo in Urayasu, Tokyo DisneySea is the only sea theme Disney Park in the world.

Tokyo DisneySea has seven theme sections: Mysterious Island, Arabian Coast, Mermaid Lagoon, Lost River Delta, Mediterranean Harbor, American Waterfront and Port Discovery.

We’ve visited Tokyo DisneySea during winter, the last day of the year. There were plenty of people as early as 8AM despite the drizzle and cold since it was a peak day.

As soon as Tokyo DisneySea opened, our group rushed to the Mysterious Island Section at the middle and queued at Journey to the Center of The Earth attraction. I thought this ride was a relaxed one since it started slow. To my surprise, it shifted to a turbulent ride in midway through.

Close to Journey to the Center of the Earth attraction, was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  A much slower ride with a submarine theme experience.

After the 2nd ride, the drizzle stopped and the sun started to shine.

Then we ate at Vulcania Restaurant which is still in Mysterious Island Section. Vulcania Restaurant serves oriental dishes. We decided to eat early for lunch to avoid long queues.

After our brunch, we walked to the Mermaid Lagoon section. Here, the ladies bought their matching Minnie Mouse headbands.

Our next attraction was Raging Spirits, located in the Lost River Delta section. Raging Spirit is a fast-paced roller-coaster ride with a Meso-American Temple themed attraction.

Next, we went to Mickey and Friends Greeting Trail for a mandatory photo with Mickey Mouse.

While waiting for our Priority Pass schedule at Indiana Jones Adventure, we tried the Disney inspired ice-cream.

We’ve used our Priority Pass to The Indiana Jones Adventure – Temple of the Crystal Skull. Which we booked via Disney App earlier that day.

Then, we hopped on DisneySea Transit Steamer Line just across the river. The route is from Lost River Delta to Mediterranean Harbor. From there, we transferred to another Steamer from Mediterranean Harbor to Lost River Delta passing thru American Harbor and Port Discovery. This is a perfect ride if you want to sightsee the whole Tokyo DisneySea.

We walked to the American Harbor area and waited for the Tokyo DisneySea show at night.

After that, we went back to Akasaka and had a simple New Year celebration at The Juicy Gyoza Dandadan.
