Platinum Fashion Mall is one of Bangkok's go-to shopping destinations for affordable fashion. It’s popular among tourist, bargain hunters and bulk buyers looking for great deals on clothes and other items.

One of our goal was to shop for souvenirs and find some good deals on shirts. But before anything else, we needed to fill our belly since it was already lunchtime.

There are restaurants, coffee shops and food stalls on different floors of Platinum Fashion Mall. But on the top floor, you’ll find the Platinum Food Floor, a dedicated food hall with a wide variety of local and international restaurants and food stalls.

Platinum Food Floor

We wanted to try as many Michelin-recognized food stalls in Bangkok as possible, but for this experience, we only ordered our main meal from one food stall because we already tried Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice. This time, we wanted to try a local Thai noodle dish instead.

Mango Salad for Appetizers

For starters, we ordered the Classic Mango Salad from Charm Siam. The combination of sweet, sour and spicy flavors was a good way to start our meal.

Peng Pochana

For our main dish, we decided to try Peng Pochana, a popular local Thai eatery known for its Thai wok-fried chicken noodles. This eatery is also Michelin-recognized.

Mango Sticky Rice For Dessert

For dessert, we couldn’t resist the colorful and appetizing Mango Sticky Rice from Mango Lounge. We partnered it with a fresh mango shake and it was the perfect way to end our meal at Platinum Food Floor.

Our experience at The Platinum Food Floor made me realize that there are plenty of hidden gems in Bangkok’s food halls, it doesn’t have to be Michelin-recognized, sometimes, you just have to try them for yourself.

Cha TraMue

Of course, no Thai food trip would be complete without trying the original Thai tea, Cha TraMue. Their stall is located on the other side of the floor, so we took this opportunity to grab a drink.

Chainarong Food

Near Cha TraMue, we also found Chainarong Food. This is a well-known shop selling packaged Thai-Chinese delicacies and souvenirs.

Since we needed to buy some “pasalubong”, we decided to take the opportunity to buy a few items here. We weren’t sure if we’d have enough time to dedicate another part of our itinerary to shop pasalubong, so it was better to buy some while we were already there.

We spent the entire afternoon going from floor to floor at Platinum Fashion Mall, looking for good finds. By the time we reached the ground floor, we were already tired and ready for a break, so we decided to relax and have a coffee.

After You Dessert Café

After You Dessert Café was already on our list of cafés to try and was highly recommended by some friends, so we took the opportunity to finally visit.

Overall, Platinum Fashion Mall is a great shopping destination in Bangkok if you’re looking for affordable clothes and items to buy in bulk in a mall setting. However, it is not really the place for leisure shopping. The aisle can be narrow and crowded, and there aren’t many open spaces where you can sit and relax.

For me, the Platinum Food Floor is another reason to visit. With its wide selection of local and international food stalls, it is a good place for a quick and affordable Bangkok food trip.

Here’s the slow-paced Bangkok itinerary.
