One of the activities I recommend trying in Bangkok is the cruise along Chao Phraya River. There are plenty of companies offering this experience, but for our trip, we decided to try Khinlom Chom Sa Phan.

Khinlom Chom Sa Phan

Khinlom Chom Sa Phan is a popular local Thai restaurant along Chao Phraya River. It has been operating since 2002. This riverside restaurant offers a nice view of the iconic Rama VIII Bridge.

The restaurant is divided into several sections. With two indoor dining areas and a spacious open-air dining section overlooking the Chao Phraya River.

Sunset River Cruise

For this experience, we opted for their sunset river cruise. They offer packages, but you can also pay separately for the cruise and food. We chose the latter and paid 199 Baht per person for the cruise.

Khinlom Chom Sa Phan is known for its seafood, but they also offer a variety of popular Thai dishes and one-dish meals. For our meal, we tried the Stir Fried Pork and Chili Rice -140 Baht (forgot to take photo :D), Stir Fried Mixed Seafood and Chili Rice -180 Baht.

We also ordered a Pork Satay for sharing (I forgot to get the price).

The Chao Phraya River Cruise usually lasts around two hours. Along the way, you’ll pass some of Bangkok’s popular landmarks, including Wat Arun, The Grand Palace, ICONSIAM, before reaching Asiatique and heading back to the restaurant.

The return trip was a different experience since the landmarks were already illuminated.

Chao Phraya River Cruise

We picked Khinlom Chom Sa Phan for our Bangkok sunset river cruise because we wanted something more relaxed. For me a sunset cruise along Chao Phraya River is a great way to slow down, eat some Thai food and enjoy the city views.

Recommendation: Book for the sunset cruise for the best experience

Tip: Go with a plated meal for a cheaper option.
