We had a two-week stay in Bangkok, and luckily, we had a place to crash. But we still wanted to experience staying in a Bangkok hotel, so we booked two nights at Queensland Hotel Bangkok.

Queensland Hotel Bangkok is a newly opened hotel with diamond-shaped design located relatively close to Bangkok’s city center.

Our Room

For our stay, we booked the Deluxe Double room, which is a 25sqm room that comes with a double bed. The room has a city view and includes the standard room and bathroom amenities you’d expect from a hotel.

Buffet Breakfast

The room also included buffet breakfast for two at Savor Thai and International Cuisine. This is the restaurant of Queensland Hotel Bangkok.

The restaurant is spacious and has a 180 degree view of the city, which is a nice way to start the morning.

The breakfast buffet includes a mix of traditional Thai breakfast dishes and western breakfast favorites. While the selection is not as extensive as other buffet restaurants, It already covers the basics like breads and pastries, Thai and international favorite dishes, cereals, fruits and salads and bottomless coffee, tea and juices. This was enough to have a decent breakfast before starting the day.

Hotel Amenities

One of the highlights of Queensland Hotel Bangkok is the infinity pool, which has a nice view of the city.

There’s also a gym on the same floor.

Summary

Location-wise, Queensland Hotel Bangkok is relatively close to the city center, it is around 5 minute taxi, but it can be quite a long walk, especially if you’re carrying luggage or traveling with kids.

Another thing I notices is that there aren’t many restaurants or fast food options near the hotel. Thankfully, there’s a 7-Eleven on the ground floor, which is convenient if you need drinks, snacks or other necessities.

During our stay, we also noticed that some of the hotel’s common areas felt warm, as if the AC wasn’t running properly. Hopefully, this was just temporary.

Aside from those observations, we were happy with our room. It was clean, comfortable and still looked pretty new. The staff were also friendly and approachable, which made our stay more pleasant. I think it's a good option if you're looking for a new and relatively affordable hotel near Bangkok city center.
