After You Dessert Café is a popular dessert and coffee shop in Thailand, known for its Japanese-inspired desserts and coffee drinks.
The café started operating last 2007 and has since grown to numerous branches around Bangkok. The one we visited was at Platinum Fashion Mall, which was convenient stop after spending the whole afternoon exploring the mall.
After You Dessert Café design was cozy. They uses different tones of wood and warm lighting to create a homey atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can slow down for a while, have a cup of coffee, and enjoy some dessert.
After You Dessert Café is best known for its Shibuya Toast, but they also have other flavors too. They also serve Kakigori, the Japanese-style shaved ice dessert, as well as pancakes (though all the pancakes were not available during our visit).
For this visit, we ordered the Cheddar Cheese Toast, which costs 265 Baht. It came with a thick and fluffy toast topped with cheddar, with two scoops of ice cream and whipped cream on the side. I’m not really a fan of toasts, but this one is an exception. I really enjoyed and honestly wished we had also tried the chocolate variants.
For drinks, After You Dessert Café has plenty of options. I decided to stick with a cold coffee and followed the barista’s recommendation to try their Es-Yen, which costs 135 Baht. It’s an Iced coffee with a strong coffee taste, which I really liked.
True to what our friends told us, both the toast and the coffee were really good. The toast was well-presented, the serving size was generous and the overall quality was good for the price. The coffee was also a highlight for me.
After You Dessert Café lived up to the expectations. If you’re visiting Bangkok and looking for a café where you can enjoy good coffee and desserts, I think After You Dessert Café is definitely worth adding to your list.
Recommendation: The Shibuya Toast.
