Mae Sri Ruen is a local Thai restaurant known for its Chicken Noodle Soup. The restaurant started in Pattaya in 1961 and has since expanded to around 30 branches in Thailand. The one we visited was their branch at Alangkarn in ICONSIAM.
While Chicken Noodle Soup is their specialty, Mae Sri Ruen also offers a selection of staple Thai dishes.
For this visit, we tried two dishes:
Khao Pad Ga-Prao (Stir-fried rice with pork/chicken basil + fried egg) - 155 Baht
Pad Thai Goong (with Shrimp) - 155 Baht
Both dishes were enjoyable, but we found the serving size a little bit small for the price. I wouldn’t consider Mae Sri Ruen if you are looking for an affordable Thai meal.
However, the restaurant has be around for more than 50 years, which says something about its food. For me, Mae Sri Ruen is more suited for those looking for a quality Thai home-cooked meal rather than a budget-friendly option.
We barely scratched the surface of what Mae Sri Ruen has to offer. Hopefully I can try their famous Chicken Noodle Soup in our next Thailand trip.
Recommendation: Chicken Noodle Soup
