Omotesando Koffee | Minimalist Japanese Coffee Shop in Makati

Omotesando Koffee is a known specialty coffee shop that was established in Tokyo, Japan. From there, Omotesando Koffee has expended its presence to Hong Kong, Singapore, London and Manila. In Philippines, it started its operations in 2021. Recently, Ometesando Koffee opened its newest branch in Makati last 10 October 2023.

From what I’ve gathered, Omotesando Koffee core values is based on the concept of “shokunin”, a quick translate will mean “artisan”. However, a deeper meaning is the pursuit of mastery of one’s craft. Curious to experience Omotesando Koffee, we visited their coffee shop during its soft opening.

Omotesando Koffee features a minimalist and modern Japanese-inspired interior. The espresso bar is strategically positioned at the center of the coffee shop. The low bar counter encourage interaction with Omotesando Koffee crew. Plus it allows guests to see the coffee preparation process.

The 2 pager menu of Omotesando Koffee, presents around 20 coffee drinks categorized in hot and cold options. It is also important to note that there is only 1 cup size available for cold drinks.

For my first Omotesando Koffee experience, I decided to try their 12-hour cold brew. I was pleased with my order. The taste of the cold brew was balanced: not bitter and no sour notes after each sip.

To summarize my brief Omotesando Koffee experience, it left me with the impression that it is a high-end coffee shop, where 1 cup will cost more than 200.00 for a regular sized cups. Even so, Omotensando Koffee is a specialty coffee shop that guarantees high quality coffee from beans to the coffee preparation process. With that being said, Omotesando Koffee caters to those seeking for an exceptional cup of coffee and are willing to invest more to the experience.
