While walking along Yulgok street, we spotted an interesting shop painted forest green. As we looked closer, we noticed loaves of breads displayed by the large window.  The smell of freshly baked bread invited us to take a step inside Anguk 153.

Anguk 153 is a Korean bakery and coffee shop located along Yulgok Street in the Jongno district of Seoul.

Once you enter, it feels like being transported back in time. With its vintage furnitures, open ceiling, wooden floors and traditional paintings, Anguk 153 creates a warm and rustic atmosphere.

Near the entrance, you’ll find an extensive selection of freshly baked bread and pastries. It has a self-service setup.

The mezzanine features the counter and the open kitchen, where guest can watch the bakers prepare these wonderful breads and pastries. Forgot to take a photo of one of the main feature of Anguk 153.

The dining and coffee areas are located on the second and third floors, providing a cozy space where guests can enjoy their food and drinks.

Offering a simple coffee menu, really highlights Anguk 153’s specialty, which is the freshly baked breads and pastries.

I highly recommend dining in, as the rustic interior and nostalgic atmosphere add to the overall Angut 153 experience.  It is the perfect place for anyone looking for quality bread, a coffee and a relaxing spot to slowdown while exploring Seoul.

Recommendation: Anguk 153 is known for the milk bread, fruit yeast bread and scone.

Tip: Based on what I’ve read, the building holds historical significance.
