While exploring Gyeongbokgung Palace, we came across a small coffee shop in the inner courtyard called Sarang Gyeongbokgung. This coffee shop operates within the palace grounds and offers a relaxing view of the pond.

Sarang Gyeongbokgung

The space inside Sarang Gyeongbokgung is quite small. From the entrance, you’ll find a souvenir section on the left, the coffee counter in the middle and the seating area on the right. Instead of regular tables, Sarang Gyeongbokgung features counter-style seating that faces the pond, allowing guests to enjoy the scening view while having their drinks.

Although there are only a few indoor seats, the coffee shop has numerous al fresco seats, this setup encourages visitors to step outside and fully appreciate the beauty and atmosphere of the palace grounds.

Sarang Gyeongbokgung offers few selection of coffee and traditional teas.

Sarang Gyeongbokgung

I tried the Royal Palace Coffee, which has a distinct aftertaste at the end of each sip. I wasn’t sure what ingredients were mixed into the drink, and the flavor takes a little getting used to, but it’s an interesting specialty to try while visiting.
