Our first stop on our second day in Seoul was Namsan Seoul Tower, also known as N Seoul Tower, located in the heart of Seoul, South Korea. It offers a breathtaking views of the city and is a popular destination for both tourist and locals.

Our bus dropped us off at the Namsam Cable Car Station. Since we arrived early, there were no queues during our visit.

The Namsan cable car ride was short and brought us close to the top of the mountain. From there, we still needed to climb a few steps to reach the park grounds surrounding N Seoul Tower.

We spent more than an hour exploring the scenic surroundings of Namsan Tower park grounds.

Namsam Seoul Tower

One of the most famous attractions in Namsam Seoul Tower is the Love Locks, a popular activity for couples visiting Namsam Seoul Tower. I remember placing a love lock here a decade ago.

There are also several restaurants and cafes in the area. Since we just had our buffet breakfast at Courtyard By Marriott Seoul Namdaemun, we opted for a drink at A Twosome Place.

The Namsam Seoul Tower Observatory is the main attraction, offering an unobstructed 360-degree panoramic view of Seoul. Unfortunately, it was foggy during our visit, and our tour package only included the cable car ride. The observatory requires a separate admission fee, so we didn’t get the chance to go up.

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA TRAVEL TIPS

  • Secure your passport

  • Be sure to have a credit card for emergency

  • If you’re not used to cold weather, moisturize regularly to help prevent winter rash and dry skin.

  • When available, reserve seats in advance, especially for trains and tours, to avoid inconvenience.

  • Instead of buying bottled water, bring a reusable tumbler—many hotels and public places have refill stations.

  • Exploring Seoul often involves a lot of walking, so wearing comfortable, well-cushioned shoes is essential.

  • Visit as early as possible to avoid the crowd and the queues. Also, book your tickets in advance to avoid long queues.

  • Wear comfortable shoes, as walking from Myeongdong Station to the Namsan Cable Car Station involves several steep inclines and stairs.

  • For the Love Lock activity, you can easily buy locks from the gift shops around Namsan Tower.

IMPORTANT TIPS FOR PARENTS TRAVELING TO SEOUL WITH BABIES

  • During winter, as a general rule, babies should wear one extra layer compared to adults.

  • Bring a basic medicine kit recommended by your pediatrician, as familiar medicines may not always be available.

  • Not all underpasses and subway stations in Seoul have elevators or escalators, so it’s more practical to use a baby carrier instead of a stroller.

  • For breastfeeding moms, lactation rooms can be difficult to find when exploring the city. Bringing a nursing cover allows you to breastfeed comfortably and conveniently anywhere.

  • We opted for a guided tour for convenience since we were traveling with a baby. However, one downside is having to follow a fixed schedule, which can be challenging with feeding times and naps. If possible, a DIY itinerary with handpicked destinations may be a better option, allowing you to travel at your own pace and enjoy the experience more fully.
