Before ending our first day in Seoul, we wanted to relax a bit, so we decided to grab some coffee and sweets. The timing was perfect, since we were just outside Café Gabaedo when this happened.
Café Gabaedo is a popular coffee chain in Seoul. As of this writing, they operates a handful of branches, mostly in Seoul. While each branch features a different design, they all share one thing in common, the aesthetic is definitely IG-worthy. The branch we visited is housed in a 2-story Hanok-style building, located in front of Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Namdaemun.
The first floor of Café Gabaedo houses the store and café’s counter. This is where they displays their traditional Korean sweets, which are sold by the gram, along with some local merchandise.
Café Gabaedo offers staple coffee drinks, teas and tiramisu.
The main sitting area is located on the 2nd floor. The red bricks and wooded furniture creates a nostalgic and laid-back atmosphere. It made us stay a while longer to enjoy our coffee and dessert.
For coffee, I’ve tried the Iced Americano.
However, the highlight of the experience was trying Café Gabaedo’s best-seller, the Chocolate Tiramisu.
Actually, the Chocolate Tiramisu was so good that we went back to Café Gabaedo on our last day to try it again.
If you are looking for a coffee shop to try in Seoul, then you should put Café Gabaedo on your list.
Recommendation: Chocolate Tiramisu
Tip: Café Gabaedo has limited seating and known to get crowded. Visit during off-peak hours to ensure you can fully enjoy a good cup of coffee and the tiramisu on their shop.
